Emily Miller, Treasurer
Emily (flute), has been a member of CLCB since 2008. She has played flute since the 5th grade, first in Roseville area schools and then at Gustavus Adolphus College as a member of what is now the Gustavus Wind Symphony. After graduating with a degree in History and French, Emily spent a year living in France as an English teacher. Teaching was not her thing, as it turns out. Upon returning to MN, she found she missed the camaraderie and fun of playing in a band and 10+ years later, here we are. Emily works in operations for The Toro Company at Corporate HQ in Bloomington, and lives with her husband, daughter, and cat in the Lake Nokomis area of Minneapolis.

Margie Simon, Director of Communications
Margie (percussion) joined the City of Lakes Community Band in 2014. Margie is the percussion section leader and has a dual background in both music education and communications. She graduated from the College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University with a degree in music, and received her master’s in music education from the University of Northern Colorado. She taught music as a band director for 15 years at the high school and middle school levels. Her bands have won numerous awards. When vocal cord issues surfaced, Margie switched to a career in communications. She has won awards for her work at the international and state levels. She thrives on writing stories and working with the media. For fun, Margie loves anything outdoors, dogs, and reading. She has served as a volunteer usher for the Minnesota Orchestra for eight years.

Julie currently works as a project manager at ServeMinnesota, a nonprofit organization that works with AmeriCorps members and community partners to meet critical needs throughout Minnesota.
