Thanks for your dedication and terrific performances this summer. We are halfway through the season with some very important dates yet to come. Next up is Hariett on July 7. Call time is 7 with a 7:30 downbeat. It's always one of our favs. Calico will be covering the interlude - woodwinds you will be up next at Hopkins. Otherwise the 'GEMS' concert order will be the same. Here's the lineup with a few notes:
American Fanfare - keep the tempo up
Jekyll & Hyde - this has been great fun to share with our audiences.
Horn Concerto - kudos to the horn section. A real highlight. Some intonation issues on the slow movement in the band.
Galop - need to keep this temp up as well
Gallant 7th - be ready for it
Sontag - like it, we do need to zero in on intonation though
Small World - how fun has this been!?
Pirates - I will introduce this as the last piece of the concert (Am the B as the 'encore') - Let's go with Mary trombone's suggestion of having everyone that wants to stand and sing at 30 do so. I miss that extra pizzazz.
America the Beautiful - Be ready for it without introduction. Intonation issues still to address. Uncork it more at the end.
Let me know if you have any questions or thoughts.
See you on 7/7@7!
